Merchants and devices
Merchants
The merchant hierarchy has three levels:
- An enterprise groups companies.
- A company is the legal entity, standalone or under one enterprise.
- A trading is the outlet or brand where payments are taken, always under one company.
Each level has its own top-level path, /enterprises, /companies and /tradings, rather than being nested under its parent. A company names its enterprise_id, and you list an enterprise's companies with ?enterprise_id=. A trading names its company_id and enterprise_id in the same way. Records carry their parents' ids, not their names: take names from the enterprise and company lists and join by id.
Acquirers and products
An acquirer is the bank or institution that payments route to. A product is what a trading is enrolled in and a device is set up for, identified by its code. In requests, send it as product_code.
A trading enrollment enrolls a trading in a product through an acquirer. A trading can be enrolled in the same product through more than one acquirer.
Devices
A device is a payment terminal or other POS hardware that Narya manages. To put one into service, you register it, set it up for a product at a trading, set its parameters and issue an activation code. See Set up a device.
Every device has a status that tells you what you can do with it next. See Device lifecycle.
